Teams Working Towards This Vision

From the Community Service Officers (CSOs), to the ROCK House Officers and Strong Houses located throughout Rockford, our local police officers are assisting residents all the way down to the neighborhood level. CSOs attend neighborhood meetings, assist and support community members, associations and organizations. ROCK House Officers physically live and reside in the neighborhoods they were sworn to protect and serve. Strong Houses are resources for our residents, where local police officers have regular office hours as a way to help facilitate problem solving and build a safer and stronger neighborhood.

The City of Rockford Mayor’s Office of Domestic Violence and Human Trafficking Prevention and the 17th Judicial Circuit Domestic Violence Coordinated Court, with support from Transform Rockford, is in the process of creating a Family Justice Center, a centralized and trauma informed facility where specialized organizations work together so survivors and their children may safely and more easily access the services they need.

Both public and private partner agencies assign staff on a full-time or part-time basis to provide services from one, centralized location. Centers focus on reducing the number of times victims tell their story, the number of places victims must go for help, and look to increase access to services and support for victims and their children. Get the latest updates and volunteer to help.

The Region 1 Planning Council is creating problem-oriented policing strategies and focused efforts by directly engaging targeted offenders and communicating clear incentives for compliance and consequences for criminal activity.
