“When the Transform Rockford movement began more than five years ago, one item the community wanted to focus on was ‘Healthy Lifestyles,’” said Transform Rockford Executive Director David Sidney. “In order to become a “Top 25 Community by 2025,” we all have to “Move More,” and become a community where all have access to recreational opportunities. This pop-up event is one-way Transform Rockford, RACVB and YMCA are providing free access to fitness classes for everyone in our region.”

“We are thrilled to be partnering with Transform Rockford and the YMCA to provide free fitness classes to Rockford,” said RACVB Director of Advancement Martesha Brown. “Our city is beautiful during the summer months, so why not take your work-out outdoors? The pop-up event allows our community members, and individuals from outside the city, to try out a new workout class in beautiful downtown Rockford.”

This is the second pop-up event Transform Rockford has hosted in 2019. The goal of the events is to bring together the community in unexpected and new places, building vibrancy and community growth while ultimately leaving residents feeling proud of where they live. Attendees will also be able to find out more ways our community can “Move More” in Davis Park by attending the Pop-Up event on July 20.
